Set Achievable Goals (2025/184)

Perhaps, on the basis of this blog or for other reasons, you have decided to start working out or upping your sporting game. Good.

The last thing we want to happen is that you fail to recognise your progress, and then give up. Goals should be realistic. You want to lose weight - fine - lots of cardio and movement, and think about your diet. You want a bit more muscle - also fine - a careful program of weights and other gym equipment after taking advice about the best weights or resistance to use. You want to be better at your chosen sport - fine - advice here will depend on what that is... the requirements for putting the shot are somewhat different from those for cross-country running! Just general health and wellbeing improvement - fine - go light and regularly exercise the body.

The important thing is (a) have a goal and (b) make sure that it is an achievable goal, so that you do not disappoint yourself. If you are short and an ectomorph (small bone structure), don't have Schwartenegger as your goal because it will never happen.

We think that you should target body image (just to make you feel good and look good) coupled with increasing your general activity or sporting abilities.

Age is not important but health is: if you are in any doubt about your condition, consult a physician before commencing training.

Today's post aims at offering some examples where goals have been achieved or are close. Different guys, different situations.

Be inspired, and good luck. Most of all keep up your regular commitment to training!

...and SATISFACTION! ... ...
