First Choices for Showing Off your Improvements... (2025/199)

 ...either in the gym itself (most have mirrors) or locker room (ditto) - and if no mirror, either a cameraphone stand or a mate to take the picture or video for you! Let's indulge in some admiration (and then turn it into personal ambition)! ... a bit extreme, that guy - but do-able, if you have unlimited gym time at your disposal!    

Set Achievable Goals (2025/184)

Perhaps, on the basis of this blog or for other reasons, you have decided to start working out or upping your sporting game. Good. The last thing we want to happen is that you fail to recognise your progress, and then give up. Goals should be realistic. You want to lose weight - fine - lots of cardio and movement, and think about your diet. You want a bit more muscle - also fine - a careful program of weights and other gym equipment after taking advice about the best weights or resistance to use. You want to be better at your chosen sport - fine - advice here will depend on what that is... the requirements for putting the shot are somewhat different from those for cross-country running! Just general health and wellbeing improvement - fine - go light and regularly exercise the body. The important thing is (a) have a goal and (b) make sure that it is an achievable goal, so that you do not disappoint yourself.
