Chest Expansion (2026/132)

Image
Are you of a certain age which would remember "chest expanders" - sets of springs where the force required to pull them apart tends to increase as the movement continues? You don't see them much any more, but a similar principle applies when using a barbell to which chains are attached - the higher you lift, the heavier you are lifting.  Of course, the so-called "chest" expanders actually worked the read deltoids, triceps and upper back!  Anyway, a post today dedicated to the chest. Great examples of successful development (and maybe "expansion"!) along with some suitable exercises.     Targetting specific areas of the pectoral muscles: ...thanks to a Korean enthusiast for making that available. And in one of our final salutes to the rising generation, Norwegian athlete Oliver shows good form (not arching the back) when training correctly by starting with light weights for his bench press...

Don't Throw in the Towel! (2026/131)

Image
If it's fitness and body image you are after, throwing in the towel after trying out working out for a while is the worst thing you can do. It all takes time, but the benefits (at any age) are huge. Keep at it! To encourage you, a collection of fit guys who just happen to be wearing towels. Sorry for the awful pun in the post title, but you know how it is!
