Just to make a point, that curl movement is poor form because, by rocking back and forth he is using his back and shoulder muscle to get the bar up. It is important to localise the effort to the muscle group you working on, for best results. Of course, he will get stronger overall but it is better to select specific exercises for each muscle group to ensure even development.
Looks like a quads trainer, but definitely an odd approach!
